Founder
Omenaa Mensah
Founder and President of the OmenaArt Foundation and Phenomenaa Gallery – a visionary redefining the relationship between art, philanthropy, and business.
Born in Poland to Polish-Ghanaian heritage, she combines European sensibility with African legacy.
She is the creator of TOP CHARITY Auction – the largest and most prestigious philanthropic art auction in Europe, a member of the Africa Acquisitions Committee at Tate Modern, and the initiator of numerous projects supporting artists, education, and cultural heritage. A recipient of the Order of the Smile and the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, researcher of African art, and PhD candidate at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH).
In her work, she unites aesthetics, social responsibility, and the idea of global dialogue through art.
Phenomenaa Gallery was born from the desire to tell stories through art.
Each artwork presented here is part of Omenaa Mensah’s personal journey – encounters with artists, discoveries made during numerous travels, and experiences that connect continents, cultures, and emotions.
The Gallery builds a bridge between Africa and Europe, showcasing contemporary art by artists from Sub-Saharan Africa, the African diaspora, and creators from around the world who explore themes of identity, memory, beauty, and transformation.
An important part of the Phenomenaa Gallery vision is its collaboration with artists associated with TOP CHARITY – the largest philanthropic art event in Europe, created with passion and purpose by our teams for over four years.
It is a natural continuation of Omenaa Mensah’s lifelong dream – to change the world for the better through art, education, and philanthropy.
This journey began over a decade ago in Africa and now flourishes across continents, supporting thousands of lives in Poland, Europe, and beyond.
Phenomenaa Gallery represents the next chapter in that path – a place where art becomes a tool for good, and where beauty and values unite people, cultures, and emotions through a shared language of hope and change.
Our mission is to connect worlds through art – to create spaces where artworks not only captivate with form but also speak of relationships, emotions, and shared human experience.
Phenomenaa Gallery is also a platform for education, dialogue, and collaboration, dedicated to artists, architects, and designers.
A portion of the gallery’s proceeds supports projects led by the OmenaArt Foundation, which promote Polish and African artists and foster artistic education.
Phenomenaa Gallery is driven by a multidisciplinary team of art historians, experienced exhibition producers, and communications specialists.
Name
The word "phenomena" refers to remarkable occurrences—things that are rare, beautiful, and deserving of attention.
In the context of Phenomenaa Gallery, it takes on a deeper significance, symbolizing beauty, diversity, and strength that Omenaa Mensah finds in both art and people. Embedded in the word phenomena is the name Omenaa—a subtle yet powerful expression of identity. In the culture of the royal Asante (Ashanti) people, Omenaa signifies strength and gold—values that have represented the kingdom’s power and wisdom for centuries.
Here, the strength of spirit and courage intertwine with the brilliance of gold—a symbol of beauty, nobility, and endurance. Thus, Phenomenaa transcends being just a name; it serves as a personal manifesto and a tribute to heritage. It is a space where art, legacy, and feminine strength merge into a single phenomenon—one that transforms our perspective of the world.
Gallery Programme
The gallery presents a wide spectrum of contemporary art – painting, sculpture, installation, textile, artistic craftsmanship, and functional design – works that merge tradition with modernity.
Its programme is enriched by educational and artistic initiatives, including:
Partnerships

These partnerships make possible the realization of exhibitions, educational and social projects, and the promotion of artists across continents.
The Foundation also supports initiatives linking art and philanthropy – including collaborations with Zachęta – National Gallery of Art, Royal Łazienki Museum, and the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów, and MICAS — Malta International Contemporary Arts Space.
