Seth Clottey
(b. 1960) is one of the most recognizable contemporary Ghanaian artists, active in the Ghanaian art scene for over twenty years. He works in painting and sculpture. He is a graduate of Ghanatta College of Art.Clottey’s work captures everyday scenes from Ghanaians' lives, illustrating social and urban changes in the country. In his paintings, you can almost hear the city sounds, feel the busy streets, the rhythm of the market, and the heartbeat of human life. In his sculptural pieces, the artist draws on the aesthetics of traditional Ghanaian sculpture.Clottey has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Accra, including at the Artists Alliance Gallery, The Loom Gallery, and the Nubuke Foundation.
